Stephanie Irvine is an emerging composer based in Newport, South Wales, who is forging a new path in creating music to inspire and connect.
Growing up in Gloucester, Stephanie Irvine’s musical education began with learning the violin by the Suzuki method. Her early compositions and arrangements received their first public performances while attending Pate’s Grammar School in Cheltenham. She studied composition at Principia College in Illinois, USA and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music in 2006.
“After a gap of over a decade, I was inspired to take up composing again in the spring of 2020 during lockdown, marking the start of a new musical journey. Folk and sacred music are key influences on my work, and I enjoy experimenting with harmony.”
